Oppose Smoking Employment Discrimination

Kentucky State Senate John Schickel, R-Boone, has introduced S.B. 256, allowing employers to discriminate against those that use legal tobacco products. The bill would remove protections traditionally afforded employees, in the same sections that prevent discrimination on the grounds of race, age, religion and sex, S.B. 256 would allow employers to take into account an individual’s tobacco usage as a basis for employment.
