Oppose Local Authority Legislation in Tennessee!

Tennessee State Representative Michelle Carringer has introduced H.B. 2705 and Tennessee State Senator Richard Briggs has introduced S.B. 2219, as two bills that allow local governments to establish stricter tobacco control ordinances and regulations.

Such measures allowed under these bills include regulations on product displays, sales, distribution, and even new local smoking restrictions! These are just a few of the steps localities could take against the sale of legal tobacco products. Tennessee does not need a patchwork of contradictory local laws that will only breed confusion for small businesses and patrons alike!

If anything, premium cigar shops, lounges and clubs (private or open to the public) that only cater to and allow of age adults should be exempt from any such legislation!
